Well, I slacked off on what Flylady has set as the duty of the week. But i haven't slacked off in my cleaning. This week is supposed to be the guest bedroom and bathroom. But there isn't much to do there except dust. So I did that, as well as put the rugs from both of the bathrooms upstairs in the washing machine. So, with not much else to do there, I started in on our bedroom.
I decided it's time for a change in the bedroom. Our bed was pushed up against two windows, so the blinds were never open. It was always pretty dark in there. Which is fine for the nighttime, but in the daytime... not so much. Not only that, but I kept thinking of the "feng shui" of things. Both our bedroom door as well as our master bathroom door opened straight out in the direction of the bed. That's a big "no no" in Feng Shui. The bed is supposed to be a place of retreat and calm serenity. If the energy is always focused straight on the bed when entering the room, it takes the soothing calm away. It's pretty impossible to arrange our bed so that neither one of those open in that direction, but the way I have it is MUCH better.
I changed everything around yesterday. Every single piece of furniture is in a different spot. Really I just kind of shifted everything to the wall on its right. I didn't mean to do it that way, but that's just how it ended up. What a difference! I recommend everyone do this maybe twice a year. Not only is it just nice to have a change, but you have no choice but to do a deep clean, and the space feels so much better for it! Again, more fog is lifting from my brain, and my soul is feeling better.
I have been keeping track of my weight since a couple of days before I started regularly cleaning the house and drinking my water. Since April 25th, I have lost 7 pounds. I haven't been exercising, but I have been moving more since I've been cleaning so much. Really, though, I think it's the water. I'm not on a diet, but I do make smarter choices. I've not been cooking as much pasta, or making as many cream sauces. I'm not drinking soda much anymore. I think I had my first soda since drinking water yesterday; although I do steal a sip or two from Mikey from time to time. Once I have my routine down for the house, I hope to add exercise to the regimen. I'm not pushing it though. If I do, there's a good chance I'll feel overwhelmed and stop everything.
